While walking about the yard a few weeks back, I noticed how dominating the color red was in our landscape. Perhaps it was a precursor to last weeks election results. As you know, Ohio is a red state:-( As we are supposed to dip into the 30's during the daytime for the next 10 days, I thought these might help to keep my warm feeling.
Viburnum berries
Hydrangea
Pink Dogwood
This one and the next two are obviously contrary to the theme, however I couldn't leave them out. These are Toad Lilies.
This is a paper wasp (Hornet?) nest in one of the street trees on Grant St. It's approx. 2' tall x 1' in diameter.
One last shot of red. This is a traditional Japanese Maple.
Cutleaf Japanese Maple

Beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a garden! Floraworks exploding everywhere!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting! So beautiful. As you said, even when we're just doing our normal things it's still so nice to see.
ReplyDeleteAre these cell pics or with a real camera? They seem especially crisp.
Great post with very vivid pictures! It's funny to see this post, because ysterday i was trying to find your house in Google Earth to show it to a girl at work, and finaly i recognize it bythe red tree in your yard. It's the only one in the area. Now with all these reds and all these snow, i think you are ready for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteEleftheria
Adam, they were taken with my real camera. Thanks for noticing.
ReplyDeleteEleftheria, did you go to streetview and see me checking the oil in Karen's car?
Also, though we have snow, most of reds are gone except for the berries:-(
